Welcome to Akron Celebration Committee

Our next meeting date: Wednesday, 3/11 at 7:00pm at the Akron/Newstead Library.

The Akron Celebration Committee will be hosting the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Russell Park. The festivities begin at 11:30 p.m. with music, hats, noisemakers and more. There will be a ball drop at midnight to welcome in 2020, followed by an incredible fireworks display. Without community support and our volunteers, these traditions would not be possible. Donations are always welcome and can be sent to the Akron Celebration Committee, PO Box 16, Akron NY 14001.

Thank you to the Akron Lions Club for providing the hats and noisemakers!

The Akron Celebration Committee sponsors two main events for the community throughout the year. One is the Fourth of July gala parade and fireworks, the other being the New Year’s Eve ball drop and fireworks. We rely solely on donations and volunteers to make these events happen.

The Akron Celebration Committee is a non-profit organization that is 100% made up of volunteers. Individuals in the community volunteer their time to plan and run the 4th of July celebration and New Year's Eve  Fireworks Display. The task of planning and running these events is no small feat so there is a constant need for more volunteers.

We strive to always provide our community with a quality 4th of July Celebration and Parade for all to enjoy. For it to be great and run smoothly, a strong group of volunteers is needed to make that happen.

We need your help!  All we ask is please volunteer as much time and effort you have available, we always work hard to make volunteering with us a fun and enjoyable experience.
