New Year’s Eve in Russell Park

The Akron Celebration Committee is hosting this annual community event. The festivities begin at 11:30 p.m. with music, hats, noisemakers and more. There will be a ball drop at midnight to welcome in 2018 followed by an incredible fireworks display.

This event is funded entirely through donations. Without community support and our volunteers, these traditions would not be possible.  Thank you to the Akron Lions Club for providing the hats and noisemakers. Donations can be made to the Akron Celebration Committee, PO Box 16, Akron NY 14001.

We are located in Akron, New York and consist of volunteers from the Akron-Newstead area. Our volunteers are committee members that meet on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm. Our meetings are held in the upstairs meeting room of the Akron-Newstead Library.

We strive to give the Akron-Newstead Community two great events, 4th of July celebration and New Year's Eve Fireworks. It is our goal to have these events be enjoyable for individuals of all ages and to be something that will create wonderful memories for everyone.

When it comes to committee’s finances, we are solely dependent on donations by businesses, organizations, and individuals.
